I Love Thrift Stores..

Maybe some of you will raise your eyebrows because not a lot of people like shopping at thrift stores. If I had known that going to these kind of store can save me big bucks, I could’ve started when I was younger and when I had lesser kids. I only started going to Goodwill and Thrift store in 2007, when we were still in Clarksville, TN. My friend introduced me to it. And from then on, I love going to second hand store. I do know that there are times that you would think it’s not sanitary, but there’s a lot of ways to make sure that you can clean up the merchandise before you use it. You can always wash it before wearing it.

I had bought a lot of stuff from thrift stores and I am proud of myself by doing it. I send boxes to the Philippines for my family, and where do I go to buy stuff? Of course, at the thrift store. I don’t buy the ones with holes and stains. You can get a lot of slightly used items at the thrift store. Going there sometimes give me peace when I am getting so bored. I drive with my 4- year old and we will go to the store, she helps me pick the merchandise. I have lots of nieces that would benefit from my shopping. I can’t afford to buy them brand new stuff, and they are happy to receive anything that I send them.

When I go to the thrift store, I see a lot of people shopping there, so obviously, I am not the only one who loves saving money. I go to our American Thrift Store here in Decatur, and I love it there. They have lots of merchandise to choose from. I had bought so many stuff for my kids, for myself and for my family. I just sent 2 jumbo boxes of used clothing to my family in the Philippines and I am so proud of myself. I will do it every year, since the cost of shipping is not cheap. This summer, I will start shopping again to send next year. Filling a jumbo box with clothes and other stuff takes time. With the number of nieces and nephews I have back home, it takes me a year to fill 3 jumbo boxes. It creates a hole in my pocket, but their happiness and their facial expression when they open those boxes, it’s PRICELESS and I love it when I see them happy.

If you are not picky like me, you can go to thrift stores and shop for something that you need, especially for children’s clothing. Kids grow so fast, and you will save a lot of money by just buying them slightly used clothes. You can buy them brand new stuff if it’s for special occasion. That’s what I do, no wonder they have gazillion of clothes. Good thing about it..after they grow out of it, I send them to my little nieces in the Philippines. See? Those $0.99 cents outfit can be used not only by 1 child, it will be used by other kids who unfortunately don’t have so much money.

What are you waiting for? join me now and let’s do our thrifty way of shopping for lesser price. Go Thrift Store!!!!

When We Get Together

Whether you believe me or not, everytime my friends and I get together, we always have dancing and singing. They say, that our party is not complete without those microphones in our hands. We love to do Karaoke and if it’s a fast beat song, some will dance too. Having a fun time with friends is always great especially if you are in a foreign county and getting together with your friends is the only way to forget your homesickness for a little while. Great microphones are always important when it’s time to sing. Otherwise the party is not a party.

Playing Yo Yo

I remember when I was younger, my neighbors who had money played yo yo and all I can do was watch them. I guess that’s the reason why I never learned. I did play some, but only up and down moves. Some young people can do some fantastic moves and I have heard of yo yo tournaments as well. How do you become a pro and be great with it? What’s the secret of being good with yo yo, is it the yo yo string? I know that there are variety of types of yo yo strings and maybe you have a durable one. I guess, I will have to get my son one and I will see if he can play for me.

Retro

Isn’t it Retro now part of our everyday life? If you are a person of fashion, you follow the yearly trend. If you notice that there was a year that the fashion world did a 1980′s theme. This year, Fashionising.com is featuring 1960′s theme. I subscribe to this online fashion magazine so that I know what’s going on in the fashion world. It’s great to be updated to what’s hot and what’s not. The latest style always gets the admiration and the ohhh! ahhhh! so I want to know what am I going to see although I don’t follow the current trend.

Being updated is a good thing, than outdated. My question though is, why are they bringing back the 60′s this year? If you see some photos below, yes they are saying it’s the 60′s styles, but they are modern designs and looks really awesome.

Conservative and yet daring. This is also a “take a peak” outfit that would really catch lots of glimpse not only from men, but also from women..

Lace is always sexy.

After Christmas Sale (Owsss…)

I was so disappointed when I went to Bath and Body Works last December 26th. I told my aunt that it would be 75% off so we drove there even if it’s too cold. Before Christmas, BABW has a sale of Buy 3 Get 3 Free. that’s why I was able to grab lots of lotion, body spray and hand soap. But anyways, I thought (of course) that being after Christmas, everything will go down, as in way down. We first went to Victoria Secret and my aunt bought some body mist that was 40%off and because I am younger than her, I got the luxury of standing in line to pay for the stuff. Four open registers and over hundred people inside the store, it was chaos. After almost half an hour of waiting, my bubble jacket made me sweat, I got done with my purchase. I promised myself never to go to VS after Christmas, EVER!

Victoria Secret Fragrances

So, we headed to Bath And Body Works, hoping that I can grab a whole bunch of 75%off stuff. Only to be disappointed. Those “buy 3 get 3 free” was changed to “buy 3, get 2 free” Huwatttt! It went up?? I thought,…I thought that it would be a bargain, like what the flyers were saying. Oh yeah, they had the body cream originally $12 and it’s on sale for $3, but I didn’t like the smell of it. I had my “save $10 for $30 purchase” coupon with me, so I guess, I had to use them. I bought 3 body spray and I got 2 free. I was mad, because, their stuff were cheaper before Christmas. Lesson learned…”Never ever go there after Christmas”

Bath And Body Works

I don’t know why I like going to these places, because I don’t even use any of their stuff. Oh yeah, to send to the Philippines.. But, oh well..I know what I am going to do now..I will go there in May, when it’s “buy 10 for $30″ I can save a lot more.

See you all Folks, and Have a great New Year..
