Circle of Trust

When you look it up in the dictionary, the word TRUST has a lot of meaning.  Assured resting of the mind on the integrity, veracity, justice, friendship, or other sound principle, of another person; confidence; reliance. When you trust someone, you can tell him everything and you believe that it’s just going to be between the two of you, that it’s not going to be known by other people. But, what if the person you thought would keep whatever you revealedto him, told someone else. Will you still trust him the next time? I don’t think so.

This is what my husband’s problem at work. He has a friend who belongs in his team  whom he trusts, but he’s very indiscreet. No matter  how many times  he tells him to keep it between the two of them, this certain person just cannot keep his mouth shut and still tell other people what hubby and him talked about. As a supervisor there are times that he needs to reprimand someone, and before he can even get to the person, the person already knows what he’s going to say, because his “trusted friend” already talked to the person. The only thing that hubby asks from his friend is, if he ever hears anything being said, or if he knows what’s going on, he lets hubby talk to people and point to them their mistakes, because it’s hubby who as a Supervisor should talk to the certain individuals.

But, anyways, I asked him if hubby would recommend his friend for a higher position someday, and he said, he can’t. Aside from his being indiscreet, he also lack of follow up and as a Team Lead, delegation of work is not only his job description, follow up is also very important. so, I guess, he’s stuck wherever he is.

Oh well, sometimes hubby rants and I listen and if I have something to say about the matter, I say it, but if not, I just let him vent. Sometimes, our partners just want to talk and want to be heard. so, to listen is good, rather than them go out and have a beer outside, if you know what I mean. :)

Have a great weekend to all!!
